The Trio-Phone
The Fukushima International Association has introduced a new
interpretation system designed to assist those with limited Japanese
language abilities in carrying out various procedures and obtaining
information related to day-to-day life in Fukushima. This system,
called the 'Trio-Phone', involves having the non-Japanese party,
the
person in charge of the procedure or providing the information
and an
FIA staff member share a 3-way telephone conversation, with the
FIA
staff acting as interpreter for the other two parties. Here's
how the
system works...
1. First, the person seeking assistance calls the Trio-Phone
Line
(024-524-1316) and states his or her requests.
2. Next, the FIA will call the appropriate person or office
from the
Trio-Phone, while maintaining the connection with the party seeking
assistance.
3. At this point, all three parties are able to talk to each
other. The
FIA staff member acts as an interpreter for the other two parties.
To learn more about the Trio-Phone system, please call the FIA
at (024)
524-1315, or send us an e-mail.
*Please note that the Trio-Phone is intended only for 'procedural'
interpretation (school registration, alien registration procedures,
health care procedures and the like). We are unable to accept
requests
for personal interpreting services.
