About the FIA

The Fukushima International Association was founded in November, 1988 by the publicand private sectors of Fukushima to be the centre of international exchange in the Prefecture. Our aim is to promote international understanding and foster strong relationships between the citizens of Fukushima Prefecture and the rest of the
international community.
.

We maintain a drop-in lounge where guests can browse our extensive library of English and Japanese books, read local newspapers, or browse the internet through our public computer terminal, where FIA guests can surf the web or check their e-mail at no charge. Printing is available, but a small charge will apply.

Our lounge and information facilities are available to the public free of charge. We do, however, receive a large portion of our funding from private sources. If you are able to assist us by purchasing a yearly FIA membership your support would be welcomed and appreciated!
