FIA presents "Fukushima" for Foreign Residents Vol.1

2023.02.14

This is a column from the FIA to provide foreigners with information about places and culture in Fukushima.
The first installment is about the winter Abukuma River that runs through Fukushima City.

Did you know that swans fly to the Abukuma River in winter?
The Abukuma River is known as a swan landing site!
You can see them from late October to late March every year.

A famous place in Fukushima City is Abukuma Shinsui Park. This park is located along the river and you can feed the swans yourself and see them up close. (However, there are too many ducks...lol).

Winter in Fukushima is cold, so why not relax and hang out with some swans?
